Has anyone see this 1284.4 text show up on their Epson printouts from windows machine?

This appears on the top of every printout from my Windows 11 machine to my Retroprinter...

Apparantly yes, because it's in the ignore_strings ALREADY in Retroprinter, just need to turn on ignore_codes option!

Glad you found it - yes, this is do with "Epson Job Control" which is used to surround print jobs sent to Epson laser printers (so far as I can ascertain). There is not a lot of information about this unfortunately.
