Re: ZX81 Memotech Interface Problems
Tony,
Are you capturing any raw data at all? The best way is to monitor the /tmp directory for raw files whilst printing.
If they are corrupt, then you will not a PDF - but you should see something in there.
You may need to adjust the handshaking, signal_time and bit_depth settings to get it to ...

ZX81 Memotech Interface Problems
Hi, I'm trying to get retro-printer working with a ZX81 & Memotech Centronics Interface without any luck so far
Have checked continuity of my ribbon cable and am happy that's ok
As I have no way of knowing for sure that the memotech is working I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any way to ...

Re: TI-99/4A Help Please
Just to log a conclusion to this
it turned out the "standard" TI-99/4a printer cable I had purchased turned out to be anything but standard
I stripped out an IC inside the plug and rewired a couple of cables to the correct locations and now it's working great (in 8 bit mode as well, so compatible ...

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
The line spacing turned out to be a case of RTFM
To open the opus printer with tokens on I was using open #3;"t" which adds CR/LF (whereas tokens off "b" only sends CR)
By changing to open #3;"t";2 it only sends CR
The sample token emulator document you sent me, based on a tokens off output, is ...

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
I'm a dipstick!
I hadn't crimped the centronics plug fully home to the cable
It works with/without Tokens ("t" & "b" options) though line spacing is a little different but that is probably CR/LF settings
Will PM you the outputs from the Opus in case they contain any useful information
Many ...

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
I bit the bullet and cut 26, 25 & 23 which made no difference
Not sure what to do with 21 though as in the list it says it's "READY" then underneath says NC
Have ordered a replacement PIA in case the one in the Opus is faulty
May try a bit of electrical tape on pin 21 and see what happens

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
I've just tried a straight thru cable I've made to connect retro-printer directly to the Opus Discovery's own printer port and I don't get any output of any sort
I've checked the wiring diagram and it seems to match the QL (SGC Printer port) pin out
However, in my Opus cable all pins are ...

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
That didn't throw up any new information
The only thing I've realised is that "COPY" is the token for hex FF

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
You would need to send the raw files for each mode. Who knows what the Epson mode does
The epson mode in the Kempston, when it didn't hang, didn't produce anything in retro-printer
However, trying it again a few times this morning and setting it to epson in the kempston is exactly the same as ...

Re: ZX Spectrum & Centronics E
Di you have the manual for the interface?
This is the manual
https://worldofspectrum.net/pub/sinclair/hardware-info/k/KempstonCentronicsInterfaceE_Manual.pdf
I did try setting it to Epson (rather than text) mode and at first I thought it was working as the speccy didn’t hang, but I didn’t ...
